Digital downloads are available immediately after you purchase them. You can download them to work with MDS (Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio) or other editing software (Photoshop, etc). You can add digital downloads to your regular craft supply order too to boost your freebies and hostess benefits. You can even have SU!'s professional printers print your pages/books/whatever for you and THAT will also count toward your freebies. You can get as little or as many as you'd like. Questions?
