silver & gold & everything else | november fancy friday

Welcome to our (the 2013 Artisan Design Team) new monthly blog hop!  Whether you're starting here or coming from Erica's page, I'm happy you're here.  How this hop will work is that each month there will be a different theme - sometimes it'll be a stamp set, set of colors, accessories, whatever.  We'll all create a project in blog hop format so don't forget to look at all 10 projects.  This is now more awesome for you!

In the comments section of my blog, you can participate in this theme by posting a link to your project using our same theme.  Then everyone can see what you've made too!  The one thing you can count on is that our projects will be fancy!

The theme for this month is Pretty Packages.   You can interpret it however you'd like.

I'm excited to see what you create!

I interpreted Pretty Packages as:

Glimmer.
Shiny.
Sparkly.
Gold.
Silver.
Banners.
Fancy.
BAM!
                          BAM!
                              BAM!

Now, on to what I created...

I made a fancy shmancy belly band for the take-out boxes.  It's so fancy that I'm going to leave this baby out with my Christmas decorations (which aren't out yet, by the way.)

To make my fabulous lollies, I played around with the width a little (1/2"-3/4") and the length is 5-1/2".

Score the back of your glimmer paper every 1/4" to achieve the lollies I created.  Cuuuuuute!  I secured the ends together with sticky strip and then held the whole thing together with hot glue.  Thank you Silicone Pad for being super amazing and handy to use with projects like this.

I wrapped my silver twine around my box and then hot glued the lollies to the top.  I only put them on the top and sides (not the bottom.)
